Kitty Daisy & Lewis 'Smoking In Heaven'Smoking In Heaven was Rough Trade’s album of the week when it first came out! Great to get that sort of support from what’s probably the best record store in the UK right now. Thanks Rough Trade!

You’ll need to buy our new album at their store beforehand (or show your receipt if you’ve bought it from there already) and collect your entry wristband at the same time. Our 78rpm Record Album explained…

78rpm Record AlbumAs well as being able to buy our new (& previous) album on your more regular CD, LP and digital formats, you can also find it as a 78rpm Record Album. These are from where the term ‘album’ originate and date back to the 1930s when record companies started to issue collections of 78rpm records, with one track on each side, in hard-back bound books.

These haven’t really been made since the 1950s when the 12″ vinyl LP era began… but we decided to resurrect them for our debut album and again for our new ‘Smoking In Heaven’ album!

The ‘Smoking In Heaven’ 78rpm album comprises eight 10″ records. Two tracks on the new album were too long for this format so they continue onto the flipside of the record. And we had to fill out the extra side so you’ll also get the bonus track ‘Don’t Come Knocking’, which we recorded live and direct to disk at Riflemaker earlier this year. And all this bound in a hard-back book with a gold embossed spine. Plus for those of you that also want something to listen to on your iPod (or if you want one but don’t actually own a 78rpm record player!), there’s a code included so you can download the full album as high quality 320kbps mp3s.

And to top it off, if you buy direct from our online store we’ll sign your copy for you!  You can also get it from Rough Trade and Amazon.

Here’s a rather dubious video of us in our record label Sunday Best’s office trying to demonstrate all this, badly…
